ODD FELLOWS’ GATHERING

AMERICAN ORDER. VISIT OF GRAND MASTER TO CARTERTON. ("Times-Age” Special.) Last Thursaay evening the Wairarapa D.D.G.M., Bro. W. M. Heckler, had the pleasure of welcoming the Grand Master of N.Z. to one of the largest and happiest meetings ever held in the Wairarapa, this taking place at the Star of Carterton’s usual meeting in St Mark’s Schoolroom. Every lodge in the District was well represented, and after formal business the Grand Master gave a very interesting and illuminating address on the splendid progress the American Order is making in New Zealand. He also gave a very clear report concerning the Social Security Act, and also the main business of Grand Lodge Session recently held in Invercargill. Very interesting addresses were also given by the Wellington D.D.G.M. Chief Patriarch Bro Hardham, P.G.L. Rep., Bro F. J. Jones, P.D.D.G.M. Bro Norman Lee and G.L. Reps Bros. Churchill and Aitken. The Star of Carterton acting N.G., Bro S. J. .Rooney then gave all the Bros a very cordial invitation to partake of supper, after which one of the most enjoyable meetings ever held in the Wairarapa concluded.
