TRANSJORDAN QUIET

REPORTS OF DISORDERS DENIED. WHOLE STORY A CRUDE INVENTION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 11. Reports purporting to emanate from Jerusalem nave been circulated by certain foreign news services which allege that serious unrest exists among the population of Transjordan and in the Transjordan army. They speak of the dispatch of 5000 British troops from Egypt to Transjordan to quell the disorders there, these being attributed to the population’s dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Transjordan Government in relation to Palestine.

It can confidently be stated that there is no truth in these reports. The people of Transjordan are living in peace and quiet, and well-informed circles here characterise the entire story as a crude invention. '
