THIRTY=EIGHT MISSING

BELIEVED TO BE DROWNED. FISHING CRAFT COLLIDE OFF BOSTON. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. BOSTON. May 12. As the result of a bow-on collision between two fishing vessels 115 miles from Boston, 38 fishermen are missing and believed to be drowned. Nine were rescued. Both vessels sank quickly. The survivors were dressed only in their night clothes, and were near collapse after 24 hours in open boats. MORE RESCUES. TWENTY-SEVEN MEN PICKED UP. (Received This Day. 10.5 a.m.) BOSTON. May 12. The crews of the two vessels totalled 43, hence eleven are missing. One of the men rescued died of a heart attack and 27 members of the crews were picked up by two more vessels. The skippers of both lost schooners are unaccounted for.
