Among the six thousand Scouts attending New Zealand’s International Scout Jamboree (which is being held at Heretaunga, Wellington, at the end of the year), there will be, of course, a large contingent of English Scouts. This contingent is to be led, not, as was hoped, by the Chief Scout himself, but by Camp Chief Wilson (who is the Camp Leader of Gilwell, the world Scouting headquarters near London). Camp Chief Wilson is second in importance in the. movement to Lord Baden-Powell, and' is an informal, colourful figure who will prove immensely popular with New- Zealand Scouts. Exciting chapters from his full and varied life are experiences with the Indian Police Force (of which he was a leading figure), and the pioneering of the Scouting Movement in India. Camp Chief Wilson is looking forward to his New Zealand visit keenly, and will arrive here shortly before Christmas.
