A barrister says it is his ambition to own a private golf course. We’ve been rather off our game lately, too. A campaign to urge motorists to dim their headlights when approaching other traffic is being undertaken by the Southland Automobile Association, which is concerned at the lack of this ‘road courtesy on the part of many motorists in the province. The purpose of the campaign is to bring about an improvement in the coming winter. It is the general opinion of motorists that dimming will shortly be made compulsory, as the Minister of Transport (the Hon R. Semple) has already stated that regulations will be introduced* in the near future making it compulsory to dip headlights likely to dazzle an approaching driver.
