ABOLITION NOT FAVOURED BY WOMEN. VOTE AT LONDON MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, May 11. Hundreds of delegates at a women’s conservative conference at the Queen’s Hall today yelled an emphatic “no” when asked to support a Home Office report recommending the abolition of the “cat” for offenders against women and children. Of the 2500 delegates 2439 voted in favour of the retention of flogging.
