STAGGERING CHANGES
HITLER’S WILL TO POWER. While the world is catching its breath to recover from the staggering changes Hitler is making in Europe’s map, the German choolchild who is getting its new atlas for the coming school year, finds a publishers’ slip in it which states, “If the borders of Germany are changed, we shall deliver new maps free of charge.” This, writes the Berlin correspondent of the “Sunday Times,” provides a spirit of expectancy that is rather pleasant for the young Germans. They get a day off from school. Their elders see in it the foreboding for new upheavals and react according to their personal temperament. The majority of Germans seem pleased at the idea of possible new expansions. As Germany takes stock of what happened in recent weeks, it realises that Hitler, by having a clear picture of what he wants, is in an infinitely stronger position than any of the other Powers in the World, and that by building up an ironclad organisation he has a force that is even stronger than his army.
