ROAD CYCLING
WAIRARAPA CLUB. HANDICAPS FOR TOMORROW. The Wairarapa Amateur Cycling Club will hold another race on Saturday over a 25 mile course. The event will commence at Messrs Fly and Young’s corner, Dixon Street, and from there to the Waiohine River bridge and return, finishing opposite the Scout Den in Dixon Street. The following are the handicaps: —K. Woollett, R. Copp, scr.; J. Brader, 45 secs.; G. Goodin, Imin. 30secs.; L. Green, J. McAliece, 2mins.; C. Gourlay, M. Graham, 2min. 30secs.; B. Dooling, 3mins.; A. Morris, E. Lefort, K. Gilbert, 6mins. The race will commence at 2.30 p.m. sharp. Several members of the club journeyed to Wellington last Saturday in order to participate in the Centre’s opening race of the new road season. All riders put up fine performances, especially M. Graham, who represented the dub in the junior event of ten miles. This boy rode superbly off the 2mins. mark with E. Yuile (Wellington), the Wellington rider only defeating him by l-ssec. for the fastest time.
