MASTERTON CLUB WEEKLY LUNCHEON. PROBLEMS OF MAORI RACE. . “Problems of the Maori Race” an address given by Dr. H. B. Turbott. of Hamilton, at the 17th Conference of Rotary Clubs of New Zealand, held in Napier in March, was road to the members of the Masterton Rotary Club at today’s luncheon by Mr F. E. Wells. Dr. Turbott’s address aroused considerable interest at the conference. He dealt with many aspects of the subject, such as health, adult and infant mortality rates, the prevention of puerperal mortality, tuberculosis, typhoid fever prevention. Maori housing, intemperance, moral declension, and educational problems.
