ITALIAN NAVY

FIGURES OF STRENGTH DECLARED - BY MUSSOLINI’S ORDER. IN LIGHT OF INTERNATIONAL SITUATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) ROME. May 10. Admiral Cavagnari, Naval Under-Se-cretary, in a statement in the Chamber of Fascists, said Italy would soon possess four 35,000 ton and four 26,000 ton battleships, nineteen heavy and twelve fast cruisers, sixty large destroyers, seventy torpedo boats and over a hundred submarines. He added that he spoke of these vessels in accordance with Signor Mussolini’s order. There was every probability that the international situation might oblige Italy immediately or> in the near future to count on her navy.
