NATIONAL ORGANISATION OF MANPOWER. CONSCRIPTION IF NECESSARY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) SALISBURY, May 10. The Defence Minister, Mr A. Redgold, speaking in the Assembly, said the Government was organising Southern Rhodesia’s manpower by means of a national register and that conscription would be introduced without hesitation if necessary. It was also intended to tax profits in order to prevent profiteering.
