OTAGO WOOL SALES
CRITICISM OF DOMINION COMMITTEE. “DUMPING” IN OTHER CENTRES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The Otago wool cheque for the four major sales of the season was £1,294,183, as against £1,364,659 in the previous season. The gross return from the April sale was the lowest, and brokers voice strong criticism of the Wool Committee in allowing unlimited sales in )ther centres in March, contending that the large offering then of 36,000 bales in Auckland, and 31,000 in Timartt were dumping which caused the Dunedin sale to lag.’ It is urged that the March auctions in those places should be subject to the same restrictions'as others, and an opportunity given for a final wash-up sale at the close of the roster.
