LONDON WOOL SALES CONTINUED HOME TRADE BUYING. PRICES FOR NEW ZEALAND CLIPS. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 9. At the wool sales, 8.351 bales were offered, including 4.264 New Zealand, and 7,409 were sold. A fairly good selection met with further Home trade buying. Rates were generally maintained. New Zealand lots sold as follows: — Scoured combing. Aviemore, 15d to 21id; Clent Hills, 17Jd to 201 d; greasy halfbred, Wharanui, IOJd to lljd.
Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents dated May 9: — The auctions are proceeding at the level of the opening day. There is a strong demand for all descriptions of greasy crossbreds. Slipes and greasy crossbreds show a firmer tendency. Greasy merinos are steady. The following prices are current: —• Merino, super, 14d to 15d per lb; average, lid to 12d; fine halfbred,, super 56/58’s, llj-d to 12d; average, lid to llsd; medium halfbred, super 50/56’s, 10? d to 11 jd, average 10jd to lid; extra fine crossbred, super 48/50’s, lOld to lid, average 10<d to lOjd; fine crossbred, super 46/48’s 10|d to lOjJd; average lOd to 10|d; medium crossbred, super 44/46’s, 10jd to lOiJd, average lOd to lOld; coarse, super 40/44’s, lO.'id to 10jd; average, lOd to lOJd; low crossbred, super 36/40’s, 10jd to 10.]d; average lOd to lOJd; pieces, 8d to 8«d; bellies, 7jd to 71d; locks, 5d to s£d. a
