With the Davis Cup in the offing ‘‘The Times” tennis writer comments on the hardcourt championships at Bournemouth and says he had not seen Coombe play so well. Malfroy was master of the art of winning mixed doubles with Betty Nuthall yet the Englishmen, Oliff *nd Billington defeated Coombe and Malfroy in the men’s final, 8/6, 5/7, 6/4, 7/5.
