AT INTERNATIONAL SKATING CONTEST RESENTED BY SPECTATORS. FIGHT AT HARRINGAY. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, May 7. Enraged at the American rough tactics whereby a number of European competitors were injured, several thousand spectators at the international roller skating contest at Harringay today, smashed the barriers, invaded the track, and fought with 200 stewards and officials for an hour. They did £lOO worth of damage, cracked the track in several places, badly assaulted a steward, stole the time-keeping apparatus and smashed the microphone. Officials managed to keep the mob from reaching the Americans in their dressing-room.
