At the closing of the national Eucharistic Congress, the Pope, in a broadcast in Trench from the Vatican, referring to the international situation, said: "Our worried humanity ardently wishes for peace.” He expressed a desire that the month of May "be consecrated to universal prayers for peace between men of goodwill and peace, for the souls which are troubled by the appeals and seductions of f alse doctrines; and for peace between the nations that are shuddering from unceasing anxiety.
