WRESTLING
BLOMFIELD BEATS CLARKE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 6.
The second match of the Auckland Wrestling Association’s season took place on Saturday night, when Lofty Blomfield obtained another win, this time at the expense of Jim Clarke, an American, who was making his first appearance in New Zealand. The contest ended abruptly in the eighth round when, in the midst of a continued attack of jolts and flying tackles, Carke went hurtling through the ropes. Rolling off the staging in front of the stalls he dazed himself to such an extent that he was unable to return to the ring within the regulation count.
Blomfield was declared the winner. Before this each man had obtained a fall.
