Remember Mother next Sunday -It’s Mother’s Day
MOTHER'S DAY, this year to be celebrated next Sunday, May 14, is being observed every year with increasing enthusiasm. Following the revival of this old English custom in the United States, and its official recognition by the Federal Government, churches and social organisations have keenly suported its observance and are endeavouring to turn the sentiments engendered by it into useful and practical channels. New Zealand has not been slow in showing its appreciation of the sentiments behind the observance of Mother's Day, and the Y.M.C.A. has always taken a special interest in its celebration. There is no mere maudlin sentiment in the remembrance of Mother on this one day a year. Rather is it a day of real friendship for the whole family, a day on which Mother is honoured with gifts as a token of love and respect, a day when the churches try to reveal mankind's debt to motherhood and womankind generally. Study these pages for gift suggestions—Mother would like any one of them.
