CALF CLUB MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Carterton Calf Club was held yesterday afternoon and was well attended. Mr F. M. Reynolds pre- , sided. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Mr E. Rayner, chairman; .Mr H. J. McKenzie, secretary; committee, Messrs L. Humphries, E. James, E. B. Clark, E. R. Rose, L. Smith, A. Clark, J. Conwell and M. J. 1 Parker. After discussion a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Rayner, H. J. McKenzie, L. Smith, E. James and M. J. Parker, was appointed to draw up rules for the use of the Carterton group, and to submit the same to a meeting to be held on Friday next. Personal. Mrs Mexted, of Matamata, is the guest of Mrs J. Conwell, Brooklyn : Road. During her stay she intends visiting her old friends in the Carter- : ton and Dalefield districts. < ST. MARK’S CHURCH. MEETING OF PARISHIONERS. The annual meeting of parishioners was he’d in the Parish Hall this i week. There was a fair average atten- - dance 'df ladies and a few representa- > tives from the country areas. 1 The financial statement revealed that : there was a debit balance of about £2O, chiefly accounted for by the reduced - amount received from annual subscrip- 1 tions. Mr W. G. Thomas was re-appointed 1 Vicar’s Warden and Mr W. C. M. Sor- 1 ensen was elected People’s Warden. The following gentlemen were elected vestrymen: —Messrs A. W. Beale, J. Court, H. Deller, J. Eaton, E. Fisher, C. K. Goodin, D. Irwin, J. G. Mitchell, T. G. Reading, S. T. Rooney. Mr P. A. Cole was thanked for audit- . ing the accounts and he was elected 1 auditor for the ensuing year. The new vicarage fund stands at £73. Both the Sunday School and the St. Mark’s Ladies’ Guild accounts showed substantial balances. The total paid to the Centenary ap- : peal from this district was over £230, and promises of over £3OO were re- 1 ceived. . It was decided to- nold- evensong at . 7.30 p.m. during summer time. A presentation of church service 1 books was made to Miss M. G. Parker and Mr A. E. Robinson as a mark of esteem from the congregation.
