PACIFIC DOMINIONS

ATTITUDE TO EUROPE PREPARING TO PLAY PART IN DEFENCE. COMMENT BY LONDON “TIMES.” (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. “The Times” in an editorial, says:— “There is no doubt about the earnestness with which Australia and NewZealand are preparing to play their part in defence of the Empire.” “The Times” recalls recent statements by Messrs Nash, Savage and Street, and says:—“There are no communities more peace-loving than the two great British democracies of the South Pacific. They desire nothing more than to be allowed,to concentrate on tire work of social progress to which they are committed but they stand firmly for the same ideals as the rest of the British family and are resolved to resist any attack on them, or any threat to the safety of the Empire.”
