FRANCE RESOLVED

NOT YIELDING AN INCH OF TERRITORY M. DALADIER CLEARS UP UNCERTAINTY. ISSUE IN EUROPE STATED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. PARIS, May 5. Declaring, “in the present circumstances I should not wait,” the Prime Minister, M. Daladier, last night gave to the Press the substance of his speech to be delivered in the Chamber next Thursday. He emphasised that France’s position was the same as when he broadcast on March 29, namely, that “we will not surrender an inch of territory or a single right.” The nation supported this policy. Nevertheless, attempts were being made by false information and tendentious comments to undermine the Governments and the nation’s determination, thus creating a feeling of uncertainty abroad about the clarity and honesty of French policy. M. Daladier added that the international situation had reached a point where the only real question was domination or collaboration in Europe. "This means France’s safety is at stake,” he said. “The French people know this, and so their determination is unshakeable.”
