ENGLISH BALLET COMPANY

NEW ZEALANDER A MEMBER. Bcbe de Roland, the young Wellington dancer, who recently achieved her first big success by appearing as solo dancer in “Faust" at the Albert Hall, London, is to be a member of the new “Ballet de la Jeunesse Anglaise” company, formed by Madame Lydia Kyasht and Madame Sokolova. This company, it is hoped, will perform several ballets at the Cambridge Theatre, London, in May, and Bebe de Roland is to dance in the first performance of “The Frog Prince.” If the company is successful at the Cambridge, it is hoped that it will tour the English provinces. On the success of this tour depends the possibility of an Empire tour, in which New Zealand wculd be included. The company has. the support of the principals of the London dancing schools, and at present it comprises 60 members. This number would, of course, be reduced during a tour.
