SOLWAY OLD GIRLS
GATHERING AT ONEPUHI. A drive through the countryside to the home of Miss Mavis Cockburn, Onepuhi, Marton, where the meeting was held, was an added enjoyment to a recent meeting of the WanganuiMarton branch of the Solway Old Girls’ Association. Business was discussed, after which Mrs Keenan gave an account of a meeting of the Hastings branch she had attended recently, and Miss Mavis Cockburn spoke of a new branch in South Wairarapa. Before tea a game was enjoyed, the winner being Miss Sylvia Walker. The time was spent pleasantly playing ping pong and ta'ipo, and at the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the hostesses, Misses Mavis and Leah Cockburn. Those present included Mesdames Keenan, Rabone, Christie, Shepherd, Poppe, and Misses Erica Russell, Beryl Mackay, Betty Hammond, Bobby Dunkley, Ngaire Laurence and Sylvia Walker. • The May meeting will be held on the last Friday in the month at the home of Mrs Keith Aiken, Fordell.
