YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
MONTHLY MEETING AT MASTERTON. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club was held on
Wednesday night in the Savage Club Rooms. There \was a large attendance. A letter was ‘received from Mr Lamont regarding the South Island tour. An-
other letter from Mr Lamont stated that a guinea prize was to be awarded to the club reporter who sent in the best reports. A letter was received from Mr J. Wright, stating that he wished to resign from the position as supper steward. The resignation was accepted. Three delegates were elected to represent the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club at the annual meeting of the district committee, to be held on May 11 — Messrs D. McLachlan, J. S. McKay and C. Welch.
It was decided, on the motion of the president, that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr A. H. Falloon. who had donated a cup to the club. Mr E. Henderson was appointed supper steward. A profit of £l6 was reported in connection with the dance, held in conjunction with the provincial judging competitions.
A proposal to play a table tenni: match with the Carterton Y.F.C., to be held at Masterton, was discussed. After the business of the meeting a number of films were shown.
A very enjoyable supper was served to those attending the meeting. Those interested in a booklet concerning the club’s activities for the year are requested to get in touch with the secretary, Mr C. 'McKay, telephone No 400 M.
