SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. SUCCESSFUL EUCHRE PARTY. /' (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the Home and School Association’s euchre party held in the Anzac Hall on Tuesday night. The prize winners were: Ladies, Miss Nix 1, Mrs O’Neale 2. Men, Mr Kennard 1, Mr C. Skipage 2. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs J. Bryden, of Tauherenikau, have returned from a visit to the South Island. Mrs N. Taylor has returned to her home from the Lewisham Hospital where she had been underoing treatment for the past few weeks. Fire Brigade Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Fire Brigade Supt Tidswell presided over a large attendance of members. The financial statement presented by the treasurer was read and adopted. The Carterton Fire Brigade wrote inviting members to their annual smoke concert on May 6.

The Pahiatua Fire Brigade invited members to attend the presentation of a 25-year Gold Star to Fireman J. Stokes.

The Brigade wishes to acknowledge with thanks a donation of £2 2s from Mr G. W. Brandon.

Deputy-Supt Boston reported on the annual conference of the U.D.F.8.A., held at Palmerston North during Easter. He was accorded a vote of thanks for his comprehensive report, and a grant of £2 was made for expenses incurred.

A long discussion took plate in connection with the removal of the partition in the meeting room, and it was finally decided to leave the partition as it is.

It was decided to make every effort to obtain a custodian for the Fire Station.

It was decided to hold the annual ball in July.
