OPERA HOOSE
McKAY’S NEW GAIETIES. Tomorrow night at the Masterton Opera House, Mr Stanley McKay is to present his New Gaieties Co. of international comedians, singers, dancers and acrobats in the sparkling revue, “Life Begins at 8.” Those who have been following the career of this popular company will have noted in the Press of Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin the success it has achieved since its arrival from Australia at Christmas time. The many brilliant specialty artists in the 1939 combination include Geo. Hurd, international royal command juggling star, acknowledged successor to Paul Cinquivalli. No one should fail to see this wonderful balancer who has appeared before the late King George, Queen Mary and the present King and Queen. Laughter is provided by Stan Foley and Alec. McKinnon, who are introducing the very latest in comedy sketches. Other excellent performers are Nellie Kolle, famous male impersonator; . Stella Lamond, talented personality girl; San Remos Bros., continental hand balancers; Gerry Keogh, Irish acrobatic dancer; Scotty and Dolly, pre-, mier Australian, dancing duo; Snowy Towers, mimic' of screen stars; Assam, Pekoe, Souchon and Congo, crazy acrobatic clowns; and Stella Collier, soprano. An entirely new revue is to be staged on Saturday afternoon and night. Many useful gifts are to be given away at the Saturday matinee. Seats may be reserved at W. G. Perry’s.
