BILL BEFORE THE UNION ASSEMBLY. COMPULSORY REGISTRATION. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, May 3. The Minister for the Interior, Mr R. Stuttaford, in the Assembly, in course of the second reading debate on the Aliens Bill, said 'there 30.000 aliens in the Union. The Bill compels resident aliens to register within sixty days and newcomers within fourteen days. The taking of fingerprints, for identification purposes, was introduced at the request of the police.
