Mr Hoi’d-Belisha, in the House of Commons, stated that the number of.reifhuits who had joined the Regular Army since January 1 to March 1 was 49.415 and that recruits for the Territorial Army during the same period numbered 104.890. The Corresponding figures for the previous year were:— Regular Army, 36,598 and Territorial Army, 66,295. . Mr Horc-Belisha announced that 46,614 Territorials recruited last week atid the recruits for April totalled 84,000. A number of units had completed their second line and 240 had completed their first line war strength.
