Chief contributors'to the Dominion’s January imports were as follows, with comparative figures for a year ago in parentheses: —United States, 28,790,257 dollars (32,329,977 dollars'; United Kingdom, 7.109,873 dollars (8,863,969 dollars'; Straits Settlements, 1.012,696 dollars (757,200 dollars); British India, 657,619 dollars (816,545 dollars); Germany, 622,060 dollars (670,68 7 dollars), Australia, 520,519 dollars (561,961 dollars); Belgium, 486,871 dollars (378,962 dollars); New Zealand, 452,549 dollars (236,126 dollars); Colombia, 377,378 dollars (75,368 dollars); France, 320,316 dollars (315,170 dollars), and Japan, 384,180 dollars (434.774 dollars).
