McKAY’S NEW GAIETIES. Masterton theatregoers, always keen on ’flesh and blood shows, are to have the pleasure of. seeing Mr Stanley McKay’s brilliant combination of international stars, “the Gaieties of 1939, at the Opera House on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6. The newspapers have referred in glowing terms of the "Gaieties” during their season recently at the Grand Opera House in Wellington. Particularly they stressed the remarkable ability of Geo. Hurd, the juggling genius, acknowledged successor to Cinquivalli. No one should fail to see this brilliant performer, whose balancing feats are astounding. Comedy, of course, is a big feature in the revues to be staged, the leading artists being Stan Foley, Australia’s most versatile fun maker, and Alec McKinnon, the talented little dancing Scotchman. They are to introduce the very latest in comedy sketches, assisted by Stella Lamond, personality girl; Max Reddy, light comedian, and Dolly Donoiighoe. Levers oi acrobatic feats are to be treated to something quite out of the ordinary by the San Remos Bros., hand balancers, and Assam, Pekoe, Souchon and Congo, crazy acrobatic clowns. Nellie Kolle, the world famed male impersonator, is to sing the very latest popular songs, and features of each revue are the Gaieties beauty ballet and May Brookes’s orchestra. Seats may be reserved at W. G. Perry’s from today. At Saturday’s matinee numerous gifts are to be distributed to the children.
