“There is now a steady stream of men applying for enrolment in the territorial forces,” says a statement' from the Southern Military Command. “In many cases, units were up'to full peace establishment, but vacancies' were continually occurring through' men moving to other towns and to retirement' after full period of service. The fact that a number of units had waiting lists was an indication of the healthy state of the territorial' forces. At the same time, this should in no way discourage the man who was considering offering his services’ and those who had qualifications for specialist work were almost certain ■of immediate enrolment.”
