AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS One of the most successful gatherings held in Carterton for some time past was the annual ball last night of the Carterton branch of the Farmers’ Union. There was a large atendance and the dancing was kept going merrily till the early hours of this morning, excellent music being provided by Tom Udy’s dance band, of seven instruments. Extras were played by Mr Tom Udy. The duties of M.’sC. were able carried out by Wilf J. Thomas and Keith Reid. The supper arrangements were in charge of a very capable ladies committee, who are to be congratulated the excellent manner in which it was provided and served. The 1939 ball can be classed as among the best held by the Farmers’ Union in Carterton. It was an outstanding success, which was due to the splendid arrangements, and the excellent organisation of the various helpers.
