DELAYED EFFORT
'.MR ATTLEE CRITICISES MR CHAMBERLAIN SHOULD HAVE ACTED EARLIER. GERMAN WORD WORTHLESS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, April 30. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr C. R. Attlee, speaking at Aberdare Valley, declared that Mr Neville Chamberlain's present effort should have been made when aggression developed. He added that Herr Hitler’s denunciation of the Naval Agreement was fresh proof that German signatures to treaties were worthless. Herr Hitler, he said, should leave Prague before demanding colonies. Mr Attlee continued: “Mr Chamberlain, to excuse the breach of his pledge against conscription, said we were not at peace. He is awakening at last, but the Government, while conscripting human beings, has tried to postpone the conscription of wealth.”
