STABILISATION PLAN

ADOPTED BY TYRE DEALERS IN WAIRARAPA. ELIMINATION OF PRICE CUTTING. A tyre stabilisation plan is being adopted by tyre vendors in. the Wairarapa as from May 15. This decision was made at a meeting of district tyre dealers held in Greytown on Thursday night. Mr F. A. Knight, secretary of the Wellington Motor Traders’ Association and of the New Zealand Petrol Resellers’ Association was present and explained in detail the operation of the scheme, which had been adopted in the greater part of the South and North Islands and it was anticipated that it would not be long before it would be general throughout New Zealand. The scheme, which was not a Government one, did not mean any increase in prices, but provided for the fixation of selling prices so as to eliminate cutting.
