OBITUARY

MR EDWARD BROWN. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital yesterday of Mr Edward Brown, a well-known resident of Masterton and district, at the age of 63 years. Born in Leicester, England, he arrived in New Zealand 32 years ago and had resided in the Wairarapa ever since. He followed the occuption of gardener and was employed by Mr H. Toogood, of Whareama and later by Mr Roy Mace, of Brammerton. The late Mr Brown had been in indifferent health for several years. He is survived by a widow, one son, Mr Leslie Brown, Lincoln Road, and two daughters, Mesdames E. Flaws, Macara Street, Masterton, and W. Busch, Otaraia, Martinborough. The funeral took place this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. MRS C. S. ELMSLEY. The death occurred at the Masterton Public Hospital yesterday of Mrs Selina Elmsley, wife of Mr Cecil S. Ehnsley, Roberts Road, Lansdowne, after a brief illness. The late Mrs Elmsley had resided in Masterton for a number of years. She took a keen interest in, and was a member of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary and the League of Mothers. She is survived by her husband, three sons and one daughter, who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will leave the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church on Monday, following a service at the house at 2.15 p.m.
