f INCREASE IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 27. On the basis of declared values imports and exports both of United Kingdom goods and imported merchandise were greater last year than in the first quarter of 1938. Allowing for intervening price changes, the volume cf imports snows a 12£ per cent increased and that of domestic exports a 3i per cent advance, but re-exports a 7 per cent reduction. Compared with the first quarter of 1938 both imports and re-exports declined in volume by 3 per cent, while exports rose by 3 per cent.
