SALE AT FEILDING. MUTTON PRICES FIRM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, April 28. Prices of beef went back considerably at today's stock sale in Feilding, the quality of the stock yarded not being up to that of last week’s. Store sheep values remained at the same low level. Some well-grown lambs were included in the offering, but bidding was not stimulated thereby to any extent. Mutton prices held firm at late rates. The demand lor store cattle was dull. Quotations are: — Sheep: Prime lambs, 20s 9d; second grade, 17s 2d to 18s 9d; unfinished, 13s 6d to 16s 2d; prime wethers, 20s 3d; lighter, 16s 6d to 17s 9d; five-year ewes, r.w. Southdown rams, best, 10s to 12s Id; others, 5s 9d to 8s 7d; four and fiveyear ewes, good, 16s 9d; second grade, 13s 8d to 14s Id; cull ewes, 2s 6d to ss; two-tooth wethers, forward sorts, 17s 2d; others, to 14s; four and six-tooth ewes, 18s 6d; ewe lambs, good 17s; backward, 11s 7d; best wether, Us to 12s 7d; smaller, 7s to 10s 4d; culls, from 3s; b.f„ 9s 6d. Stephenson and Co Ltd, report as follow: —We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when, a fairly big entry was submitted to the usual attendance. Sheep met with a slack sale and bidding was dragging throughout. Good w.f. lambs
were only making in the vicinity of Bs. Cattle were much weaker last year, and good conditioned cows sold at very reasonable prices. Pigs sold at late values:— Sheep:—Fat wethers and maiden ewes, 15s 4d to 16s; f. and f. b.f. 2ths, to 14s 6d; f. and f. ewes, to 8s; woolly wether lambs, l()s 3d to 12s; b.f. lambs 8s lOd to Ils 6d; medium b.f. lambs, 5s to 8s; small b.f. lambs, 4s to 4s 9d; ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 4s to 7s Id; small wether lambs, 4s 3d to 6s 6d.
