Y.M.C.A. HELPERS
MEETING OF LADIES’ AUXILIARY. The monthly meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. was held in the rooms yesterday afternoon, when there was an attendance of 13 ladies, witn the president, Mrs Beecroft, in the chair. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Clarke. Bannister, Physick, Wing and Mackay. Thanks were expressed to Mrs' Cottle for her assistance in making covers for the gymnasium piano and for the boys’ billiard table. Mrs Kerr offered to make a number of small bags in which to keep certain articles of equipment. It was decided to hold the annual Mother and Son Tea on Wednesday, May 31, at 5.30 p.m.; and a full discussion took place on details of arrangements, programme and the obtaining of suitable speakers. No effort is to be spared to make this function a great success, and it is anticipated that there will be a large attendance of mothers with their sons. The meeting concluded with the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses for the month, Mesdames Pike, Wadham and Rutherford.
