OUSTANDING PROGRESS. INCREASED SURPLUS. The ninetieth annual report now being issued to its members provides convincing evidence nut only of the continued growth and prosperity of the A.M.P. Society, the largest mutual life office in the Empire, but of its unassailable strength and stability. Outstanding achievements during 1938 were the further reducing of expense rates and the increasing of the reversionary bonus allotment. The reduction in the expense rate at the present time is in itself ample evidence of the effect of sound management, which in life assurance is the very basis of stability and success. The total sum assured and bonuses in force have reached the stupendous figures of £365,218,289, while assets total £117.009,258 of gilt-edged securities. These facts give proof of the confidence which the public of Australia and New Zealand have in this society. New business for 1938 almost equalled the record of 1937 and the figure of £29,104,683 is further evidence of the protection and excellent service which the A.M.P. is providing for New Zealanders.
