Today the first provincial stock judging competition is being held, in which teams from the Manawatu, Wanganui, South Taranaki, North Taranaki, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay are taking part. The same classes are being judged and the same judges and stewards will officiate, except that Mr W. H. Hall will be judge of Jerseys and Mr N. McKay, will be the steward for Romneys. It is hoped to be able to announce the results of the district competition at afternoon tea at Messrs Hugo & Shearer’s at 3.30 o’clock. Last evening an enjoyable dance was held in the Arcade Hall by the Masterton Club, at which the visiting members of Young Farmers Clubs were the guests.
