FEARS OF TROUBLE
SHIPMENTS OF METAL TO JAPAN. PROTEST BY TOWNSVILLE WATERSIDERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, April 26. The secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Mr C. Crofts', today sent a telegram of protest to the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, against the shipping of silver and lead concentrates from the Mount ' Isa mines, Queensland, to Japan. He stated that the waterside workers at Townsville were loading concentrates .' under protest, and that trouble similar to that at Port Kembla was likely to occur at any moment.
