The Hong Kong correspondent of “The Times” says the Chinese offensive has been brought to a standstill. Severe fighting continues near Kongmoon. The Chinese claim that they have prevented the Japanese occupation of Shekki, but the Chinese attack on Canton, in which they have been halted at Kongtsun, 15 miles from Canton, is more important.
