CHARGE OF ARSON
FIRE ON FRENCH LINER PARIS. YOUNG WATCHMAN ARRESTED By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. PARIS, April 23. Cesar Franck, aged/19, who gave the alarm oft fire ini -the .liner Paris, which sank at Le Havre last week, was arrested and charged with arson today. Franck, who was one of the ship’s watchmen, admitted tripping over and disconnecting a floodlight wire, after which flames shot out from the bakery. ANOTHER FIRE. BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTAL. * PARIS, April 25. The old French liner Angers caught fire last night in the naval demolition dock at Laseyne, near Marseilles. The fire burnt itself out. It is believed to have been caused accidentally by a blow-lamp, but an inquiry has been ordered. The nearby arsenal and petrol depot were not affected.
