JOHNSONVILLE SALE. EWES AND WETHERS SELL WELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Large yardings of sheep and cattle were offered by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., to the usual attendance of buyers at the Johnsonville stock sale held yesterday. The bullocks yarded comprised mostly prime medium-weight and heavyweight bullocks. These met with a ready sale with prices showing no alteration. There was a large yarding of good quality cows and heifers. The sale for these was not quite as brisk as usual, but prices were on a par with those ruling at late sales. The wethers yarded were of good quality, and sold well, with prices showing no alteration. The ewes came forward in large numbers and met with a ready sale with prices on a par with last weeks. The lambs were of indifferent quality, good quality lambs being sought alter. Medium and lightweight sorts were not wanted. Quotations are: — Cattle: Prime extra heavy bullocks, £l3 17s 6d to £l3; prime heavy, £l2 15s to £l2 2s fid; heavy, £ll 15s to £ll 7s fid; light and unfinished bullocks, £lO 10s to £9 15s; extra prime heavy cows and heifers. £8 5s to £7 10s; prime heavy, £7 5s to £6 10s; cows and heifers, £5 15s to £5 4s; runners and vealers, £2 19s to £1 17s; small vealers, 14s. Sheep, Prime extra heavy wethers, 23s 6d to 22s 3d; prime heavy, 21s 6d ro 20s 3d; medium, 19s 9d to 17s 6d; prime extra neavy ewes, 16s 6d to 15s 2d; prime heavy, 14s 6d to 13s 4d; medium, 12s 6d to Ils sd; heavy lambs, 23s to 21s 6d; medium, 19s 9d to 18s; light, 17s 6d to 15s. MASTERTON SALE. Fat sheep prices firm. Small entries of fat and store sheep were penned at Mastertoh today. Fat sheep were firm at late rates, but there was little demand for stores, and passings were frequent; indeed, several pens of aged breeding ewes failed to elicit a bid. The following are some, of the realisations:—fat maiden eWes, 15s; others, 10s to 14s; extra prime fat lambs, to 20s; ordinary, 13s to 15s; medium 2-tooth wethers, 11s 9d to 12s, small, 7s; w.f. wether lambs, 8s to 10s; cull, 3s to ss; fat and forward b.f. lambs, to 13s 6d; ewe lambs, to 14s; weaner pigs, 3s 6d to 7s.
