WANGANUI BEAT ST MATTHEW’S. An enjoyable tennis match was played at Wanganui last Saturday between the Wanganui Girls’ College and St Matthew's Collegiate School. The contest. resulted in a win for Wanganui College by 6 sets 70 games to 3 sets 56 games. Following are the detailed results (St Matthew’s players mentioned first in every case): Senior singles.—J. Wylie lost to B. Holland, 6/9; M. Bevan lost to L. Bennett, 8/9; J. Mulvaney beat R. Taylor, 9/4; B. Wells lost to D. Hammond, 6/9; L. Smith beat D. Morrison, 9/4; M. James lost to J. Williams, 2/9. Doubles.—J. Wylie and M. Bevan lost to B. Holland and L. Bennett, 5/9; L. Smith and B. Wells beat R. Taylor and D. Morrison, 9/8; J. Mulvaney and M. Jones lost to D. Hammond and J. Williams, 2/9.
