FALL THROUGH BRIDGE

MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT NEAR DANNEVIRKE. EX-MASTERTON RESIDENTS INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, This Day. A car, in which were several Palmerstonians coming to Dannevirke from the coast, went through the rail of an approach to a small bridge about 3 miles from Dannevirke yesterday afternoon, and finished up on its side in a stream containing less than a couple of feet of water. . ■ The occupants comprised Mr and Mrs Ernest Williams and three members of their family, Mr B. Williams and Misses Cynthia and Zonah Williams. The father and son are hairdressers. Mr Williams fractured a shoulder blade, and is suffering from abrasions and shock; Mrs Williams, concussion, abrasions, wounds on both hands, and shock; Miss Cynthia Williams, wounds on the left ear; Miss Zonah Williams, abrasions on the forehead: and Mr Williams, junr., minor abrasions. The three latter are also suffering from shock. The condition of the parents is reported to be serious. Mr and Mrs E. Williams and family were former residents of Masterton, where Mr Williams was at one time engaged in business as a hairdresser. Miss Zonah Williams, one of the victims oi the accident, was a pupil of St: Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls in Masterton.
