JEWS ON STRIKE

DISORDERS IN PALESTINE TROUBLE OVER RESTRICTIONS On IMMIGRATION. SOME NEWCOMERS LANDED ILLEGALLY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) HAIFA, April 23. A Jewish strike has been proclaimed, as a protest against refusal to allow 460 Jewish refugees to land from two Greek vessels. A disturbance occurred in a Jewish suburb, Jews booing and stoning British police attempting to break up processions. There were many injured as the result of baton charges. Protest demonstrations were also held at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. An additional 200 illegal immigrants landed north of Tel Aviv. They hid in orange groves, but were arrested, and are going to Jaffa.
