PERSONAL
The death occurred at Waitara on Friday night of Mr F. F. Vile, ninth son of the late Mr Job Vile, for many years Mayor of Pahiatua. Mr J. T. Marriott, formerly of Ballance, where he was one of the earliest settlers, died on Friday night in Hastings.
Mr Reg. Humphries, of “Crosshills," Pongaroa. will leave Auckland on May 1 on a tour abroad, and expects to return about three months later.
Mr M. McCalmont. who has been on the staff of the Masterton branch of the Para Rubber Co., Ltd., has joined the firm of Messrs Wright, Stephenson, Ltd., at Greytown.
Dr C. Hughes-Johnson, senior house surgeon at the Wanganui general hospital. is to leave in June for England. He intends doing post-graduate work in London.
The Most Rev Thomas O'Shea, Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan of New Zealand, who has been on a visit’to Europe, is expected to return to Now Zealand next month and is due at Auckland on May 28.
