ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH

SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC. LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS. On Saturday afternoon the annual picnic of St Matthew’s Sunday School, Lansdowne Sunday School and the Kindergarten was held in the Parish Hall. Games were played indoors and races were run outside. Among those who won prizes were: Pam Haywood, Sally Mann, Margaret Wickens, Rita Fitzwater, Ira Pawson, Margaret Dagg, Yvonne Burridge, Ngaire Mabson, Bernice Grey, Maureen Cruickshank, Olive Davies. Betty Grey, Pat Downing, Melva Wickens. Audrey Ball, Chris Grey, Colin Jones, Trevor Haxton, Joe . Ewington, Bill Tolhurst, Alan Cruickshank, Neville Burridge, Rex Fly, Roger Hunter, Geoff Jaine, John Hardy, Tony Burke, Alex Dixon, George Bull, Ivor Button, Murray Freeman.

■ The teachers had a very busy time catering for the children'. However, they managed to satisfy amply their every need and one and all had a very enjoyable time. The Vicar, the Rev E. J. Rich, presented the prizes and spoke a few words to the children. The party finished happily in time for the children to return home before dark.
