April 21. “The Times” Hong Kong correspondent says that, despite rain, the Chinese maintain their pressure around Canton and are spiritedly attacking Sunwui, near Kongmoon, where they claim to have secured a footing. They are also bombarding Tungkun, near Shekling. Guerrillas attacked the Tsingmai Aerodrome, on Hainan Island and claim to have destroyed two Japanese aeroplanes. The Chinese, expecting an early attack on Swatow. have ordered early evacuation of civilians and the removal of factory machinery and supplies. EXODUS FROM SWATOW.
